Subject	What's the deal with painting the side-view mirror mounts???

Message	I'm talking about the two charcoal colored plastic pieces where the side-view mirrors mount to the car. I notice on some cars they're painted, and on others they're not. My car is in the shop right now and I'm debating on whether or not I should paint them, or leave them how they are. It's hard to tell from the picture but most of you guys should know what I'm talking about. Opinions??? Thanks!
